After animating there will be a button where you can download immediately, or you can always access your animations in the “My Purchases” section of the User Menu. Whichever method you use, download your file in Collada (.dae) format.

Photoshop Workflow

Create a new Photoshop file and import a background image of your choice (or leave it blank if preferred). To import your character choose the menu options 3D > New 3D Layer from File… and select your animated .dae file.

3D Layers can be oriented in the world by using the Move Tool (Shortcut: V). With the 3D layer active click and drag on the canvas to manipulate the 3D Layer’s orientation to match your image.

Once your world is aligned you can adjust your character as well. With the Move Tool active click the 3D model within the canvas to activate the 3D manipulation tool. This tool has controls for moving, rotating, and scaling along the local x, y, and z axis (as well as a local universal scale option).

Each 3D Layer comes with a default “Infinite Light” which appears in the canvas area as a light icon. Clicking on the light icon will make the rotation of the light active and using the Move Tool will let you rotate the light around your scene to match the lighting with your backdrop or environment.

Animated 3D Layers are completely compatible with Photoshop Layers. You can add adjustment layers, layer masks, and much more to unify the color, light, and style of your canvas.

You can also scrub through your animation and animate the properties of your layers over time. To access the Timeline use the menu options Window > Timeline. Each layer in the Layer window is also represented on the Timeline with a rollout for attributes such as position, opacity and style. By clicking the “Add Key” button you can set key frames for each of these attributes to animate them over the timeline.
